For her grandfather to just say something like that truly meant that he trusted her and all her hard work and being the good person she is was paying off. Her thoughts were jumbled at the moment until Cursico had muttered something she could not quite catch. He asked her if she was alright and stepped beside her. The question might not have fully gotten her to pay attention to him, but when he stepped up beside her that was when she blinked and wiped her eyes before turning her head towards him. She nodded, ”Yeah,” she reassured him then, sniffing once before she looked away again towards the living room.
The couch! She gasped suddenly as she realized they were lucky that her grandfather did not see the couch. To make sure she did not just scare Cursico with her sudden gasp, she spoke to him. ”I forgot about the couch, we’re lucky he didn’t see that.” She went over to a drawer in the kitchen that was used to place spare things in or other useful things. Taking out a sewing needle and the closed color thread she could find, Kayla made her way over to the couch to make a quick fix. She stuffed the filling contents back insde and tried to get it as even as possible before fixing the needle and thread to start mending the tare.
”There,” she said as she finished with a small triumphant grin on her face. Her work was not bad and hopefully it would do. Making her way back to the same drawer she put the needle and spool of thread back. She shut it so it did not slam and turned back around to find Cursico. ”What should we do now? There is still some time left if you want to sleep in.” Kayla yawned after that, using her hand to cover her mouth to be polite. Clearly she probably needed the few hours she could get since the fiasco with the man that ‘attacked’ her and then dealing with Cursico- not that she didn’t mind that too much. Then she remembered the bite on her neck.
”On second thought, do you think you could help me with the bite on my neck?” Trying to take care of it herself would be rather hard even if she used a mirror to help her. To clean it she could use hydrogen peroxide and then perhaps put a type of healing cream on it and then depending on how big the bite was (she did not know since she could not really see it) then either gauze and medical tape or a type of Band-Aid would have to be used. If she could get Cursico to perhaps help her with making sure she cleaned it well and patched it up right, then hopefully it would heal well and not get the dreaded infection that could happen.
