Clairy-bell here is a rather skilled shape-shifter - she can take on the form of any animal or any human being. Since she considers humans to be a disusting, lowlife race, she prefers the animals. Her main shift, or her signature form is a gyrfalcon.

Personality:
The first thing anyone needs to know about Claire is that she is a passionate gifted one - one of the main reasons she's a part of the resistance. Once an owned gifted herself, she understands the pain of others and actively works to free them of this pain. This is what makes Claire somewhat of a hero; her passion for this cause is so strong that she would lay down her life for it without question. Passion is the foundation of her personality, and it's plain in her eyes every time someone sees her.
Another personality trait that is so apparent is her loyalty and kindness to others - even humans at times. She, as a passionate being, is especially loyal to those she cares about like friends and (perhaps later on) lovers. Her kindness also defines her for who she is. Though she is passionate, there is kindness and warmth in her heart that was almost lost when the gifteds were captured. Never has Claire killed a human, and she never will. Even though they imprisoned her, sold her, harrassed her, assaulted her, accosted her... she cannot kill.
However, despite these wonderful raw traits that Claire wears so proudly on her heart, she has some faults. Most of them result from her neverending passion. For instance, she is a very stubborn being who doesn't take 'no' for an answer or budges on her opinion. Also, Claire is very quick to jump to conclusions... and since she's stubborn, it serves to be quite the obstacle in some situations. Thirdly, Claire is very protective of her beliefs and friends, which means she can sometimes seem overcontrolling and aiming for power. Which, to some, she might be.
But no matter the excuse, Claire is a good young gifted woman who wants what is best for her own people.
History:
Claire Austere was born in a rich human's home - the result of a private breeding program the human himself owned. She was taken away from her parents when she was no more than a week old, so of course she doesn't remember her parents in any way. She doesn't even know if she has any siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles... she doesn't know any of her family at all.
Claire was stripped of her last name when she was sold at age three to a circus show - her shape-shifting abilities were too precious to miss. She was displayed countless times in a cage, forced to take the shapes of animals and other humans to entertain the visitors that came to see the circus. She was also one of the many acts in the main ring - having to jump through rings of fire and fight against tigers and lions as another creature herself. By age ten, she hated her life.
When she was twelve, Claire was sold from the circus to a private collector who was looking to collect as many exotic gifteds as he could. If Claire thought that circus was bad, this was definitely much worse. She merely sat in a cage that hung from a ceiling all day. She hardly got enough to eat, drink, and got sick more times than she could count. She was never allowed to speak with other gifteds - those who did break that rule were beaten by security guards responsible for looking after them.
After four years of this, Claire got sick of her lifestyle. Not caring about the consequences of her actions, Claire broke out of her cage and fled from the house. On the way out, she was shot by one of the security guards just as she was climbing over the wall. Though it healed, thankfully, without any infection, she was able to stay alive. There is still a scar on her left shoulder from the incident. Now, even though she is not a part of any organized resistance, she still considers herself a rebel - secretly fighting for those of her own kind.
